I give you the above relation in order to show you that we have already dealt with the matter officially, and that we are only waiting for you to take it into con- sideration and after a careful study pronounce the decision

I must inform you that the methou I have explain- cd, has been followed by me with every good will, in view of the confidence which the company has in your well known spirit of justice and in the well onserved prestige of the Yexican forornmont, and which lead me to believe in a
prompt administration of Justice with respect to these
claius, and I can adware you bal I positively desire to
reach a just decision without diplomatic intervention which I have been glad to leave sospended, with a certainty that
the company will have no reason to again ap eal to the emp-
port of the British Tegation, because your decision will be
based upon equity, law and the unquestionable honour of the
Government of the nupublic.
Lastly, I must beg of you, Mr President, that you
will have the kindness to fix your attention on the time
it has elapsed and which has resulted in certain losses to
the company, so that it may influence you to shorten as far
as possible the decision which we respectfully request.
